The four collections that were released each year – two for France and two for international markets – each required three months of preparation. To offer its employees the best working conditions, the House of Christian Dior was one of the first to have its own infirmary, inaugurated by the French health minister, Bernard Lafay, with the daily presence of a doctor. A large rest home at Vaire-le-Grand, in the Jura, and a holiday camp in Dinard, completed the House’s offer to its employees.
